New Quilt with So St Croix

Just finished this quilt for my shop & really enjoyed being able to sew this. I have had this idea in my head ever since winning the fq's from Jennifer Paganelli. I, of course, stocked up with my own purchases after viewing the beauties. I have always had a soft spot for toiles, & knew I would use one for this quilt. I added fabric from some of her other lines~ flower power, pretty please for the border & the back is kayla from dance with me. The binding is from the sis boom basics eliza stripe~ a perfect finish. I scroll quilted around the scenes & the border. The finished quilt is just so happy, summery, dreamy!

So St Croix Project

Couldn't wait to make this diaper bag for my shop! Love all the brights together! As previously blogged, I won a set of FQ's from Jennifer Paganelli & heres my second project. I made a baby blanket first and it sold right away, so I didn't get to blog about it, but will post a pic on the sidebar later. If that was any indication, So St Croix should be flying off the shelves! :) I added some of Jennifer's other fabrics to the semi log cabin flap. It kinda looked like it was going to be a quilt in my previous post, and I do have one in the works, but this one went to a diaper bag/moms bag. So St Croix WIP

Well, I have stared at my fat quarters I won from Jennifer Paganelli for about a week now. Dozens of projects kept flying around in my head. I finally settled on 2 to begin with. When I went into my fabric room~ (I call it that now because I am just storing fabric & supplies in my sewing room and have moved to my dining room to sew! :) & all of Jennifers past fabric lines jumped into my lap and said, "Use me, too!" Those of you who have seen my past quilts etc. know its hard for me to just sew from one fabric line. Fabric is FUN and I want to use it all!! So this is what I got so far. Stay tuned!

I Won!!!!

I am so excited, I won the entire collection of So St. Croix in fat quarters, woo hoo!!!!Jennifer Paganelli was having a giveaway on her blog, http://www.jenniferpaganelli.typepad.com/ and I got to be a winner! If you haven't seen her blog, it is full of creative ideas for her fabrics and patterns. I met Jenny through the flickr pool and she also won. Living Room Fabric Audition

I just got new drapes a few months ago for my living room and dining room which face each other. The old drapes I made myself and the were red toile from Waverly with cream boullion fringe. They just got a tad faded. I kept saying I needed to make new ones, but just haven't had the time. A friend of mine just bought these Pottery Barn (lined!) silk drapes and didn't want them, so she asked if I wanted them- easy to say yes! Now, I am tweaking the Living Room to incorporate the cocoa drapes. Sandi Henderson's Henna Garden from the new Meadowsweet line looked like a match. What do you think? My ottoman was made by my MIL with my requirements- the lid lifts off and I have my scrapbooks inside. I asked if I could cut up the family sheets that were ripped and used the top, pretty edge with the hand embroidered 'J' for Johnson. It fit perfectly around the edge. (Click the photo to see it better) I think it was a full size sheet. I stapled the linen to the inside of the ottoman. I have really enjoyed the look and the family tie. The top was covered with the red floral fabric that the pillow on the couch has, but its time for a change. There were matching pillowcases with the 'J' and I turned those into pillow toppers, and I will blog about that another time. I am waiting for Jennifer Paganelli's new line to come out, So St. Croix, as I think the reddish brown would look good in the room as well.
