Fresh, Spring Crib Bedding

Oh, how I loved working with these pretty spring colors for Yasmin's crib set! I used Danielle in papaya for the base of the skirt with a patchwork of Jennifer's past lines (also in the blanket) from Honey Child, Flower Power, Poodle, Pretty Please, Queen Street and the newest, Crazy Love. She also ordered pillows which are on my flickr. One with pom pom fringe (too fun!) and one with piping. Hope she loves them!

The Devon peasant top

I've been playing around with this Devon pattern from Sis Boom/Carla Crim and it's FABULOUS! I am honestly NOT a clothing sewer, but being surrounded by all these amazing fabrics, I yearn to make something to wear! I've made things before from Jennifer & Carla and have been super impressed with the detailed instructions & photos. Truly, I am a visual learner and get sooo stuck on any patterns easily~ but not here! There are so many options on length based on your height, sleeve options either bell sleeve or regular, ruffled or not. Super versatile. You can even make this as a dress. I love it and will enjoy wearing it this spring. I used the Maeve fabric from Jennifer's Poodle line because I've been wanting to make myself something out of it for a while. I enjoyed the pattern so much I'll be making it in Crazy Love, but just don't know which one yet. There are just so many good ones, I'm stumped! It's funny because I help people pick out fabrics every day, but it's hard for me to make a decision on that mostly because I love 'em all! Get the Devon and have fun with it!

Quilt Along Step 2

Had to pause the posts for a weekend of soccer tournaments for my daughter! Okay, once your fabric is organized, start laying out a pleasing pattern. I start in the upper left corner with an 8x8 (I'm dropping the half inch for typing purposes) square of my inspiration fabric~ in this case Tanya~ then start going across the top until your patches add up to 42". So, first square 8, second 8, third 6. Keep going until you are at 42. Going under the original 8" square, do the same thing going down to 48". Fill in between a combination of patches with good distribution of color and sizes.
Next, start sewing blocks in sections like in the top picture. Once you have all sections sewn together, you are ready to start layering your quilt~ the next post! Get out your spray baster, batting & backing & I'll see you next post!

Pretty Poodle

I was super excited to sew up this new baby blanket featuring the new Poodle fabrics. They go with some of my favs~ loopy vintage, mary trellis & jackie from past JP lines. There is this turquoise colorway~ called green, but there is also a blue. Fuschia seems to be a staple in her lines, and I love that!! There is yellow that goes with the Marie yellow from Pretty Please and a great brown called mustard that grounds the bright colors. I love how her look is vintage inspired, and one can never have too many florals. Another success!!!

Poodle by Jennifer Paganelli

Jennifer has done it again with another fabulous line! I just put my order in at http://www.etsy.com/shop/sewlovefabrics . I know that fabritopia is also carrying the line, but not sure if Jona has it in yet. For sure, Ruth is the first one on etsy. She is such a sweetheart & has great customer service. Can't wait to cut into these beauties~ or can I???

Thanks for visiting!
