Liverpool Tunic Pattern Review

I decided I wanted to make the Liverpool tunic to wear for mother's day this year. I am not a seasoned clothing sewer, but love the challenge & the sewing lesson I get. I chose the Darla fabric line from Tanya Whelan because I knew I wanted to wear it mostly with jeans. It is the shirt length & with elbow sleeve option. The placket is made in a contrasting fabric as well as the cuff & collar. The cuff actually wasn't supposed to contrast, but just look finished, so I just hemmed the cuff. I saw someone elses version & they added the piping to the placket in a contrasting fabric, so I did that, too. There is no piping "tube" inside, I just cut a 1" strip & ironed it in half & inserted it under the placket before attaching. I really like that detail. The collar was probably the trickiest, and I have no tips, but to go s-l-o-w. I tried to sew this a little each day this week so I wouldn't get frustrated. The mistake made was when I didn't do a large enough french seam in the back & the raw edge was sticking out! Overall, it was a fun pattern to make and I love the way it fits & how everything is finished so nicely~ professional looking from an amateur! :)

Oh, that's beautiful! Technically I do hav ethe skills to make this, but I just know the fabric would become evil and foil my every attempt. And I would get really mad.

Good Morning.

Would you mind contacting me about a special order? I would like to see if you are interested in creating a 90" round table cloth.

I look forward to hearing from you.
