June Song Quilt

A few months ago I was contacted by Lothian to make a custom quilt for her. She told me a few fabrics she loved and I pulled from my stash to create the quilt pictured. Alexander Henry's June Song fabric was the jumping off point for the colors. I used lots of coordinates from Jennifer Paganelli as well as Lizzy House (love all her pearl bracelet prints), Lecien, Josephine Kimberling, Valori Wells & the Daisy is from Riley Blake. I had the daisies with red center on hand and couldn't find yardage for the binding, but found the same print without the red center. It looks so pretty for the binding
I wish it showed up better, but I straight line quilted this with a variegated fuchsia thread from Aurifil which looks especially beautiful on the back against the black fabric. I hope Lothian loves it as much as I do!

Ready to Ship!

Every once in a great while~ well, this is only the 2nd time in 3 years~ I make a bumper that is ready to ship. When I first got the Loulouthi fabric I was wowed by the Summer Totem & Clippings prints and so I was excited to pull fabrics for a patchwork bumper to coordinate with those prints. I used prints from Jennifer Paganelli, Tula Pink, Josephine Kimberling, Khristian Howell, Amy Butler, Annette Tatum & Robert Kaufman. I've been working on this since Loulouthi came out~ was it last summer?? Anyway, I'm excited to put it in my shop, so if you want instant gratification rather than wait the 8 weeks it usually takes, head on over to my shop!

Crazy Love Messenger Bag

There are oh so many things I want to make with Crazy Love, but I decided to go for my messenger bag. Its a great way to mix up the fabrics. I've been playing with separating the colors more, but really this line calls to be mixed up, eclectic, fun & bright. You just can't go wrong. Flap: Priscilla, front/back Natasha, sides& inside flap Joann, insides Natasha pockets with Cecilia walls, strap on top a mix of it all! If you've been hesitant in mixing fabrics before, this line makes it easy! I've posted various combinations on my flickr under 'fabric choices' if you would like suggestions~ otherwise, dive in! This bag is now available in my shop! :)

New Shop!

Well, my scraps and some yardage that I just haven't been using has been taking over my sewing room. For a long time I've been wanting to open a destash shop, and I finally did it! There, you will find these bags of awesomeness scraps (first photo is Jennifer Paganelli scraps & second is Pink #3) as well as yardage, & 8" square quilt top kits. I do have a limited amount of yardage for backing if you need that on the quilt top kits~ they are listed within the listing. I have even WAY more than listed, so if you need a bag o scraps, email me & I'll set you up. :) I will be stocking it as I have time, so check back if you are looking for a bag of fun to play with! My shop is called sewfunscraps . Hope you'll visit it and favorite it!!

Girlfriends!

Happy Valentines Day, Girlfriends!! I'm playing with Girlfriends fabric from Jennifer Paganelli today. She sent me the Shana (bouquet) fabric and here's what I've come up with. Below that is a reference I took from Fabric Square shop that shows all the prints from that beautiful line. Hope you are having a great Valentine's day!

Wall Vignette

So, I decided to work on the wall in my bedroom opposite my sewing room door. I love the idea of the fabric hoops and have them in my living room, but I wanted to change it a little and not see the metal adjuster at the top. I cut the fabric out with pinking shears so that it would just cover the side of the hoop and hot glued dots at intervals along the wood frame. I pressed the fabric to the glue dot and the result is a pretty scallop that looks decidedly more feminine and perfect for my bedroom. Both red fabrics are from Moda & the owl one is the newest line from Birch Fabrics that I just got in yesterday. I just did a little quilting to emphasize some of the elements in the print. So cute!! The large bird print is home dec fabric from Thomas Paul & I bought it at fabric.com.
Happy with another corner!

Thanks for visiting!
