Love Patchwork Bumper

Just finished this bumper for Lauren. I love the happy, summery colors found in Amy Butler's Love fabrics. I used the Bliss Bouquet in teal for the crib skirt. I really enjoy using patchwork for all applications! I like seeing all the colors meld and add interest when its all mixed up. There is always something to look at.

Molly's Baby Quilt

This was a fun team effort by Molly & me. She contacted me to make a 40X46 random patch baby quilt using mostly Flights of Fancy fabrics. She scoured the internet finding fabrics that are hard to find~ like the Garden Trellis in green. Main fabrics also included Dandelion from Patty Young's Flora and Fauna line. I added a few fabrics that I had on hand and voila, this beauty was born! Hope her baby enjoys it for years to come!

Big Bear Beauty

We had a great time in Big Bear with our family & grandma. The top photo is with Tom's mom, Carrol. The rest are favorites from the trip on our driving tour across the mountain. We managed to also kayak, shop :), dip in the pool, eat out & watch movies at night. Time to get back to sewing, but loved the break!

Vacation Time!

Just finished these beautiful blankets for Gabrielle. Today we leave for vacation! :) These blankets look relaxing & cozy. They remind me of the great books I am bringing that will be fun to cuddle up & just read for fun. We are going to Big Bear which is still pretty cold, so we are bringing hot chocolate mix, sweatshirts & walking shoes. I also get to work on the kids scrapbooks. I used to work on them all the time, but now I sew full time, so I am limited to twice a year. Now & Christmas. There are fewer pictures these days, too, as my kids are 12 & almost 15. I don't volunteer in their classrooms at this age, there are fewer dress up days at my daughters school, & I doubt any high schooler would participate in 'crazy hair day'!!! So, I have about 6 months worth of photos I get to enjoy. Hope you enjoy your week, I will blog when I get back, but will be reading your blogs while I'm gone. I still have a need to look at all the beautiful creations everyone else does. You are all so inspiring!

Room with A View

Since moving my sewing room into the dining room, I have consciously tried to pretty up what I see out that window. I have 5 roses in the foreground right outside the window that I didn't keep up with the anti-rust treatment & have already had to cut them back. :( The trumpet vines are really flourishing & I love looking at them. Every time I do I think, 'You know, Amy Butler's Trumpet Flower in pink is the exact shade of my trumpet flowers! I need to make a pillow to put on that bench to match'. This conversation has continued with myself for several months now, and I'm happy to say I jumped in and made it out of the laminated cotton. Now, I just need to paint the bench, get new flowers for the pot. At least I can check the pillow off my list! :) Here is a link to the Sew & Tell Friday: http://www.amylouwho.com/

New Quilt!

I just finished this UFO (unfinished object) that I started in the fall. I just needed to quilt & bind it, so got it done this morning & will list in my shop later today. I just love aqua & wanted to combine my favorite fabrics in my favorite pattern~ random patchwork. The backing is minky & I just folded the minky over the quilt top & sewed it. The binding is not separate, but a continuos piece from the back. I was thrilled that these cosmos were volunteers from last year!! Gotta love that!

Thanks for visiting!
